January 2006

I always like to reflect on the past year with each new year. It really helps me to set my priorities for the up and coming year. One of my priorities is to spend more time with my family. My father passed away this last year and one of my regrets was not spending more time with him. His death was unexpected. One of my other goals is to partcipate in more charity events. There is nothing more rewarding than helping others. It seldom costs you more than your time.

I have been very busy this month with speaking engagements, and my healthcare consulting business. I wish you all much health, wealth, love and happiness this new year.

February 2006

I played in only one Bay 101 tournament this month. I was unable to build up my chips and I was eliminated mid day. Unfortunately, the second day that I was there, I became very ill and had to leave early. It was still great to see a lot of my friends.

March 2006
This month I participated in many tournaments. First I attended the Peppermill Hotel and Casino championship game in Reno Nevada. I was able to build up my chips very quickly. In one hand I had pocket aces. A player in mid position made a small raise. I re-raised on the button and he called. The flop came 6-7-8 rainbow. He checked. I bet. He called. The turn produced a duece. He bet. I raised. He went all in and I called. He had just what i thought, pocket kings. The turn produced a four and I won a huge pot. Several hands later I had pocket aces in the big blind. Several people limped in. I made a large raise since there were so many limpers in the hand. I had two callers. The flop was 6-6-4. I bet and one of the players folded and the other player reraised and I pushed all in. He turns over a king six off suit and the hand was all over.

Next I attended several of the Reno Hilton tournaments. I took so many bad beats in those games that it would be cruel of me to bore you with all the details but I will share one hand with you. I sat down and my very first hand I was dealt my favorite pocket pair 7-7. I made a raise in mid-position preflop. I got one caller. (the guy that knocked me out of the tourney the day before) The flop came out 7-6-9. I checked. He bet. I check raised him and he called. The turn came out with a nine. I bet and he raised. I pushed all in and he called. He turned over an ace nine off suit giving him a set of nines and I show him my sevens full of nines. He drew a nine on the river and knocked me out of the tournament with quad nines on the first hand.
